As a former (all too brief) resident of Paris, I was shocked and appalled by the senseless terrorist attacks overnight.
What will this prove? Nothing.
We stand with our friends in Paris today.
Vive la France!
So – some days, you really do need to say “******** to it” and just go for a pint.
So I have.
And the Nottingham Legend Beer at the Frame Breakers has certainly hit the spot.
Not being wholly philosophical, but sometimes taking a couple of steps back, and contemplating issues over a beer can often put things into a proper sense of perspective.
For a couple a Sundays now, I’ve checked out the Frame Breakers, a newly refurbished pub in the village.
Nottingham Brewery took it over recently and have done it up rather nicely. The Beer is top quality and there’s always something interesting on the jukebox.
And moreover on a Sunday night it’s quiet, so I can come and relax with a pint and just unwind.
Which is nice.
I shouldn’t laugh, but stuff it – Forest beat local rivals Derby tonight with a magnificent counter-attacking performance.
Can’t recall the last time the City Ground was so buzzing and had such a cracking atmosphere. A little over 25,000 saw it happen, with tbe majority leaving ecstatic.
The whole squad was under pressure after a poor run of results but if you can pull a performance like that out the bag then that’s all that matters.
Well done lads!
…from two days in Manchester.
It rained. A lot.
Always seems to rain in Manchester.
So, today I have travelled to Stuttgart for business. It’s very foggy here.
But I have discovered that you can get Dunkin Donuts in Germany, something is not spotted on my many previous visits, and that the Motel One in Stuttgart serves an excellent Franziskaner Weißbier.
Small things, it’s always the small things.
